MORGANTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY Approved 08.17.2022 Minutes of the Regular Meeting July 20, 2022 Present: Absent: Also Present: Others Present: Sue Carpenter Sarah Palfrey Linda Durfee Kelly Funkhouser Meredith Hartery Penny Pugh Alexandria Svolos Call to order The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Morgantown Public Library convened via Zoom Video Conferencing on July 20, 2022. The meeting convened at 9:02 am, Sue Carpenter, President presiding, Kelly Funkhouser, secretary. Approval of the Minutes  June 15, 2022 - The minutes were approved as corrected. Linda Durfee moved. The motion passed unanimously. PUBLIC FORUM – None CORRESPONDENCE AND COMMUNICATIONS – None REPORTS OF COMMITTEES/OFFICERS A. President – None B. Treasurer – o Financial Statements – The financial statements were reviewed and filed for audit. ○ Approval of Checks – Meredith Hartery moved to approve checks as presented. The motion passed. ○ Alexandria Svolos moved to open an account with two names/signatures, Sarah Palfrey and Kelly Funkhouser, in order to move bequeathed money from an IRA into the Morgantown Public Library’s name. The motion passed. C. Investment Committee – No report. D. Facilities Committee – A local architect is interested in helping with a preplan plan and then further work at an hourly rate. The Mills Group proposal is due by the end of the week. “Mills Group will be selecting 3 projects within the state of West Virginia for which [they] will provide pro-bono conceptual architectural service.” Sarah Palfrey will submit one building project REPORT OF THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR & BRANCH UPDATES  See Director’s Report UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None NEW BUSINESS  Policy Review Schedule – including tabled Catastrophic Leave Policy Review. Sarah Palfrey will email select portions of the policies to the board that should be updated first. BOARD COMMENTS – None EXECUTIVE SESSION – Personnel Matters The Board of Trustees went into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters. Time: 9:29am. Present: Director, Board of Trustees.
