POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION City of Morgantown August 19, 2021 4:00 p.m. Public Safety Building, Police Chief Conference Room 300 Spruce Street, Morgantown, WV 26505 PRESENT: President Jerry Summers, Commissioner Kevin Clark, Deputy Chief PJ Scott, City Clerk Christine Wade, Deputy City Clerk Heather Carl, 1 st Sergeant Murphy, PFC. Palmer, PFC. Tyler Bradford, PTLM Cody Yankulic. Commissioner Charlie Chico was absent. Start Time: 4:00 p.m. MINUTES: Motion by Clark, second by Summers, to approve the July 14, 2021, meeting minutes. NEW BUSINESS: A. Pursuant to WV Code 8-14-7 Nomination and election of President of the Commission: Motion by Summers, second by Clark, to table until all 3 commissioners are present. B. Discussion of promotional exams for Sergeant, First Sergeant and Lieutenant scheduled for September 29, 2021: After discussion, motion by Summers, second by Clark, to continue using the current promotional tests for September 29, 2021. C. Discussion of other testing companies as options for consideration: City Clerk Christine Wade handed out information about CPS HR Consulting for commissioners to review. The commissioners would like to see more information about other testing company's that can be used for promotional testing. After discussion, motion by Summers, second by Clark, to have the City Clerk look into other companies for entry level examinations. D. Discussion of updating source editions for all promotional exams scheduled after January 1, 2022, for Sergeant, First Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain: After discussion, motion by Summers, second by Clark, to approve all books that have new editions for promotional exams after 1/1/2022.
