Wade, Deputy City Clerk Heather Carl, Administrative Assistant Jennifer Harker, and Lt. Linthicum. The meeting was called to order by President Summers. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Clark, second by President Summers to approve the June 17, 2023, Meeting minutes, and September 6, 2023, Meeting minutes. Motion carried 3-0. NEW BUSINESS: None UNFINISHED BUSINESS: ..· Review the revised Rules & Regulations The commission has decided to review the Rules & Regulations after a second review from the City Attorney Ryan Simonton. They will discuss any changes at the next scheduled meeting on September 27, 2023. Schedule date for Captain's promotional exam: After discussion, motion by President Summers, second by Commissioner Clark, to schedule the Captain's Promotional Exam for December 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Training Room. Motion carried 3-0. Discuss reading list for future promotional testing for rank of Captain: After discussion, motion by Commissioner Chico, second by President Summers, to update the reading list to the updated versions for the captain testing. See below the newly updated list: - Criminal Investigation 12th Edition - Police Administration 11th Edition - The Law Officer's Pocket Manual, 2023 Edition 1st Edition - Community and Problem-Oriented Policing: Effectively Addressing Crime and Disorder 7th Edition Certify names for new hires: Marshall Brooks - After discussion, motion by President Summers, second by Commissioner Clark to disqualify him.
