Tree Board minutes 05/23/18 Morgantown Tree Board (MTB) Minutes, meeting of May 23, 2018 Public Safety Building conference room, 4:30 PM Joint Meeting with the Urban Landscape Commission (ULC) 1. ATTENDANCE: MTB members Dan Brown, Secretary Jon Weems, and Chair Dave Barnett, City Council liaison Rachel Fetty, Urban Landscape Director Marchetta Maupin, BOPARC Director Melissa Burch, and ULC members Kara Hurst, Bill MacDonald, and Chair Joe Morris. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: D. Brown moved, and D. Barnett seconded, that minutes of the 3/26/18 meeting be approved without amendment. Motion passed. 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. Memorial policy: MTB and ULC members jointly discussed draft text of possible changes to the City’s Policy for Approval of Gifts and Memorials. J. Weems agreed to amend the draft text to include changes discussed. 4. OPEN DISCUSSION: Members discussed a possible response to a recent newspaper article about “treacherous trees.” 7. NEXT MEETING: 4:30 PM June 25, City Council Chambers. 8. ADJOURN: J. Weems moved, and D. Brown seconded, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion passed.
