WARD & BOUNDARY COMMISSION MEETING Thursday, January 22, 2015 City Hall – Council Chambers PRESENT: Chairman Alan Donaldson, Commission members: Don West, Steve Carpenter, William Ryan, Guy Panrell, Roger Banks, Clerk Linda Tucker, and Assistant City Engineer Damien Davis. Cindy O’Brien, Absent The meeting was called to order by Chairman Donaldson at 11:04 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Ryan, second by Commissioner West to approve the minutes from November 19th, 2014 meeting. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. Review & discuss ordinance adopted by Council. Commissioner Panrell requested the totals Damien left the meeting to obtain information and the commission had discussion about what a good job Damien has done with the mapping and putting all the numbers together. Damien then presented the updated data that he had and waited for the commission to come up with their totals to see if they match his. After discussion and all totals were in all agreed that ward totals were 16,870 with the average calculation being 2,410.00. Commission agreed that with new construction which could bring in new voters; and the fact that there are some wards that were not addressed this time. The commission by consensus will look at numbers in a Work Session in December of 2015 or January of 2016; also at that time the County should have all their data updated, Commissioner Banks asked now Council rejected what this commission presented to them in the 4th and 7th wards? Everyone responded and stated that is correct. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, meeting adjourned by unanimous consent.
