Woodburn Community Complex Commission
Minutes of Thursday December 16, 2021
Members present: Chris Haddox, John Trumble, Marti Shamberger, Marly Hazen Ynigues, Ron Dulaney,
Evan Fedorko, and City Councilor Danielle Trumble .
The meeting was called to order by Chris Haddox at 6:01 p.m. via ZOOM. The minutes were accepted as
presented.
Building updates: The Shack has moved out of the building. Councilor Trumble stated that to date the
City has not received notice that the Shack is terminating their lease.
Outside grounds update: The City has submitted an RFQ for the playground improvements which
should be completed during the spring of 2022. No updates have been received regarding the roof.
Vision and Mission Statement: The proposed statements were presented for discussion. John Trumble
felt that specifying “youth centered” in the proposed statements was important for future funding
opportunities. After a discussion the commission voted 5-2 to leave the proposed statements “as is” and to
submit them to the City for their approval.
Mission Statement:
The Woodburn Community Complex is dedicated to sustaining a space for pursuits that enhance the
quality of life for the Morgantown community.
Vision Statement
The purpose of The Woodburn Community Complex is to provide Morgantown with space for people and
organizations to support individual and community growth, service and wellbeing.
Other: Chris Haddox thanked Marly Hazen Ynigues and Ross Justice for their service on the
commission. Two vacancies will exist on the commission beginning January 1.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
The next schedule meeting is January 27, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
