Woodburn Community Complex Commission Unofficial Minutes of Thursday September 29, 2022 Members present: Chris Haddox, John Trumble, Marti Shamberger, Ron Dulaney The meeting was called to order by Chris Haddox at 6:10 p.m. via ZOOM. The unofficial minutes from May 26 were reviewed but not acted on due to a lack of a quorum. Mural Project: Painting and site prep of the outside walls with a base color has begun. The mural should be complete sometime in early October. NOTE: On August 20th community members came and painted panels of the mural at the WCC. The artist would take the panels and touch them up to apply to the site for installation in October. Building updates: The trees designated as diseased/unsafe by the Tree Board were removed from the WCC site. The old playground equipment was removed for site prep for the new playground equipment and improvements slated for the Spring 2023. The suggestion was made that after the new playground installation was completed, that trees be added back to the site. Other: There weren’t any updates on the tenants of the building Two vacancies still exist on the commission beginning January 1, 2022. Chris Haddox, Ron Dulaney, and Evan Fedorko’s will not be renewing their terms, which will expire December 31, 2022. Discussion about the reorganization and role of the WCC Commission was held. Chris would contact Councilor Danielle Trumble who serves on the Commission to share the discussion of the future of WCC Commission. The meeting was adjourned at 6:38 p.m. The next schedule meeting is October 27, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom.
