Balsam, Moses Lake, Washington and was broadcast remotely via Zoom. ROLL CALL Present: Chair: Council Member David Eck; Committee Members: Tim Molitor, Richard Hanover, Barry Lawson, and B.J. Garbe. Staff: City Manager Allison Williams, Finance Director Cindy Jensen, and Deputy City Clerk Jennifer Schober. NEW BUSINESS 1. Approval of Minutes Action Taken: Committee Member Molitor moved to approve the minutes as presented, second by Committee Member Hanover. The motion passed unanimously. OLD BUSINESS 2. 2020 Available Revenue Funds Finance Director Cindy Jensen provided the amount available for distribution which was also included in the agenda packet. 3. Historical Fund Request 2018 & 2019 Spreadsheet Actual funding for the years 2018 and 2019 were included in the meeting packet for review as well as the 2019-2021 actual and estimated revenue and expenditures. 4. Summary of 2020 Applications and Optional Scoring Worksheets Staff prepared a summary of the current applications as well as a criteria checklist. 5. Through 15. 2021 Funding Recommendations: Organization: Event / Funding Recommendations Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation Craft Out Cancer - $5,000 City of Moses Lake – Parks Department Tourism Marketing Efforts - $110,000 Moses Lake Spring Festival Moses Lake Spring Festival - $45,000 Visit WA 2nd Annual Moses Lake Airshow - $50,000 Grant County Fairgrounds* Grant County Fair - $5,000* Sand Scorpions ORV Group** Bounty Hole & Freestyle Mud Trucks - $15,000** Moses Lake Business Association Downtown Brews & Tunes - $1,000 Moses Lake Business Association Downtown Sip & Stroll - $1,000 *Funding can only be used for marketing purposes. **Applicant will be required to work with Lynne Lynch to market and promote their event. The following were not recommended for funding this year: City of Moses Lake – Parks Department Surf ‘n Slide Water Park Paint Renovation Columbia Basin Allied Arts Premiere Season 44 Moses Lake Spring Festival Moses Lake Freedom Fest Visit WA Marketing Central/Eastern Washington Event Tourism Rotary Charities of Moses Lake Moses Lake Skateboard Park Improvements After reviewing and discussing each application the Committee is presenting to Council a total funding amount of $232,000 for 2021 disbursement.
