TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA COMMERCIAL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD DECEMBER 16, 2019 MINUTES Attachment 1 - STAFF REPORT Present: Beth Santilli, Chair, Rick Lambert, William O'Neal, Brian Wurst, Cameron Swails, Ian Duncan Staff: Brittany Johnson, Peter Stone, Jane Yager-Baumrind Ms. Santilli called the meeting to order at 5:00pm A. Approval of Agenda Mr. Lambert moved for approval of the agenda. Mr. Swails seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of Minutes Mr. Wurst moved for approval of the minutes. Mr. O’Neal seconded the motion. All in favor. C. General Public Comment There being no public comment, Ms. Santilli continued with the agenda. D. General Correspondence Ms. Johnson reviewed the correspondence with the Board. Mr. Brian Wurst moved for approval of a continuance for the following item: ➢ 1081 Johnnie Dodds, 1081 Johnnie Dodds, TMS# 535-00-00-260 & 535-00-00- 077, Preliminary Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Rick Lambert seconded the motion. All in favor. E. Consent Motions  Design Review Board December 16, 2019 Page 2 of 3 Mr. Wurst moved for consent approval of the following item with staff comments: ➢ Spring Hill Suites, 3001 South Morgan’s Point Road, TMS# 600-00-00-055, Final Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Lambert seconded the motion. All in favor. F. Business 1. Spring Hill Suites, 3001 South Morgans Point Road, TMS# 600-00-00-055, Final Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture This item was appoved through a consent motion. 2. 1081 Johnnie Dodds, 1081 Johnnie Dodds, TMS# 535-00-00-260 & 535-00- 00-077, Preliminary Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture This item was approved for a continuance. 3. Garden Flats at South Bay, Founders Way, TMS# 560-00-00-068, Preliminary Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture. Mr. Wurst and Mr. O’Neal recused themselves due to a conflict of interest. Mr. Stone and Ms. Johnson reviewed staff comments with the Board (attachment 1). Mr. Andrew Jameson and Ms. Mary Marting, reviewed the request with the Board. Mr. Lambert moved for preliminary approval including all staff comments. Mr. Swails seconded the motion. All in favor. 4. Opie’s Grocery Station, 1735 N Highway 17., TMS# 558-00-00-062, Preliminary Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Stone and Ms. Johnson reviewed staff comments with the Board (attachment 1). Mr. Giles Branch and Mr. Losse Knight reviewed the request with the Board.  Design Review Board December 16, 2019 Page 3 of 3 Mr. O’Neal moved for preliminary approval with board and staff comments being addressed. Mr. Wurst seconded the motion. All in favor. 5. Water’s Edge, 1407 Shrimp Boat Lane, TMS# 517-11-00-013, Final Approval of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Ms. Johnson reviewed staff comments with the Board (attachment 1). Mr. Chris Evans reviewed the project with the Board. Mr. Wurst moved to deny installation of solar panels given sensitivity and location near Shem Creek. Mr. O’Neal seconded the motion. All in favor.
