TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA COMMERCIAL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD OCTOBER 26, 2022 MINUTES Staff Report Present: Richard Lambert, Chair, Elissa Morrison, Timothy Kiel, Abigail Richardson, Steve Magoon, Lee Cave, Chris McCarthy. Staff: Peter Stone, Kate Miller, Kristen Forbus, Aaron Bennett, Julie Wright, Lynnette Lynes Mr. Lambert called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm. Mr. McCarthy entered at this time (5:03 pm). A. Approval of Agenda Ms. Morrison moved for approval of the agenda. Ms. Richardson seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of September Minutes Mr. McCarthy moved for approval of the minutes. Mr. Kiel seconded the motion. All in favor. C. General Public Comment D. General Correspondence There being no comments or correspondence, Mr. Lambert continued with the agenda. E. East Cooper MOB Phase 2, 2000 Hospital Dr, 559-00-00-071, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Ms. Miller reviewed staff comments with the Board. Mr. Dan Schafer, LS3P, and Mr. Mark Yost, reviewed the request with the Board. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment. Mr. Magoon moved for approval including all staff and Board comments with the roofline being consistent with the existing buildings. Mr. Richardson seconded the motion. Motion passed on a 6 to 1 vote, Ms. Richardson, Mr. McCarthy, Ms. Morrison, Mr. Cave, Mr. Lambert, and Mr. Magoon in favor; Mr. Kiel opposed. 5. Chabad of Charleston, 477 Mathis Ferry, 514-16-00-080, Preliminary Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Stone and Ms. Miller reviewed staff comments with the Board. Mr. Lucas Boyd reviewed the request with the Board. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment.  Design Review Board October 26, 2022 Page 3 of 3 Ms. Morrison moved for approval with no comments. Mr. Lambert seconded the motion. All in favor. 6. Carolina Cataract and Laser, 1011 Lake Hunter Cir, 535-00-00-259, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture This item was approved through a consent motion. 7. 870 Walt Miller, 870 Walt Miller Dr, 514-00-00-010, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Ms. Miller reviewed staff comments with the Board. Mr. Malcolm Brennan, architect, reviewed the request with the Board. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment. Ms. Morrison moved for approval with staff comments and to have staff approve the mockup in relation to colors. Mr. Kiel seconded the motion. All in favor. 8. Days Inn, 261 Johnnie Dodds Blvd, 17-00-00-023, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Stone and Ms. Miller reviewed staff comments with the Board. As the applicant was not present, the Board continued with the review. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment. Mr. Magoon moved for denial for further study on tree removal, site layout, roof form and for the color to be restudied to match the Town’s guidelines, and addressing all staff comments.
