TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA GREEN COMMISSION AUGUST 15, 2023 MINUTES PowerPoint Presentation Present: David Quick, Chair, Angus MacBride, Mary Conley, Andrea Martin, Jim Westerhold, Rachel Honderd, Olivia Flynn, Susan Johnson. Staff: Christiane Farrell, Michele Reed, Kevin Mitchell, Liz Boyles, Chris Lubert, Adam Hutton, John Farrell, James Ward, Melissa Noble, Julie Wright, Claire O’Loughlin, Seth Buckworth, Cody Robinette, Lynnette Lynes Mr. Quick called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm. A. Approval of Agenda Ms. Flynn moved for approval of the agenda. Ms. Honderd seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of July Minutes Mr. Quick moved for approval of the minutes. Ms. Honderd seconded the motion. All in favor. C. Public Comment There being no comments, Mr. Quick continued with the agenda. D. Election of Vice Chairperson Ms. Johnson moved for approval of Ms. Rachel Honderd as vice-chair. Mr. MacBride seconded the motion. All in favor. E. Discussion of Agenda Items Moving Forward Mr. Lubert discussed with the Commission items for discussion for future meetings.  GREEN Commission August 15, 2023 Page 2 of 2 The Commission agreed that getting the basic information first would be beneficial, but any time sensitive issues should be brought to the Commission as well. The Commission discussed whether special meetings or a retreat could be beneficial to help expedite the information. The Commission agreed that scheduling a special meeting might be beneficial if schedules permit. F. Environmental Guidelines for Commercial Development Mr. Mitchell introduced the Environmental and Engineering staff to the Commission and reviewed the environmental guidelines. Ms. Conley left at this time (3:30 pm). The Commission discussed the guidelines with staff. The Commission agreed that recognizing developments that are adhering to the guidelines or exceeding the requirements would be beneficial for the public. The Commission discussed the need for educating the public on these new requirements and outreach efforts as this would be valuable for the public. Ms. Conley entered at this time (4:08 pm).
