HISTORICAL COMMISSION
APRIL 11, 2019
MINUTES
Present: Patrick Morrissey, Alisha Davenport, Courtney Theis, Antonio White.
Absent: Lonnie Doles, Richard Gutowski, Deborah Sutherland
Staff: Kate Dolan, Jane Yager-Baumrind
Mr. Morrissey called the meeting to order at 8:09 am.
I. Approval of Agenda
Ms. Davenport moved to approve the agenda. Ms. Theis second. All in favor.
II. Approval of Minutes
Ms. Davenport moved to approve the minutes from last month, Mr. Morrissey
second. All in favor.
a. Introduce New Members
Mr. Antonio White and Ms. Courtney Theis introduced themselves to the
Commission.
III. Public Comment
There being no public comment, Mr. Morrissey continued with the agenda.
IV. Brickyard Historical Marker Presentation
Ms. Vanessa Hill reviewed with the Commission what the Brickyard community
has been doing to preserve the history within their neighborhood. She stated that
they would like to have two historical markers.
Ms. Davenport moved for approval for the Brickyard subdivision to move
forward with the historical markers with the text to be brought back to the
Commission for approval. Mr. White Second. All in favor.

Mr. Morrissey explained that with members changing recently, there are no
committee assignments.

C. Special Collection Committee
Mr. Morrissey updated the members about Edmund Jenkins and the
memorial.
D. Tourism Committee
Mr. Morrissey updated the members about the markers for Primus
neighborhood markers.
E. Organization and Administration Committee (No Report)
VI. Staff Update
Ms. Dolan updated the Commission on installing a digital board on the second
floor, Mr. Robertson presenting at the new library, and statistics on Quick Fact
Friday.
VII. Adjourn
Ms. Alisha Davenport moved to adjourn at 8:50 am. Mr. White second. All in
favor.
