Ms. Whitley called the meeting to order at 10:31 am.
1. Approval of Minutes from the July 5, 2022 meeting
Ms. Hyatt moved for approval of the minutes. Ms. Corley seconded the motion.
All in favor.
2. Public Comments
Mr. Will Haynie, 316 Mallard Court, spoke regarding workforce housing. He
suggested that this is an economic development issue as economic development
businesses will not want to locate in the Town if there is not housing for their
employees. He suggested that another reason for workforce housing is to have
housing for future generations to come back and live in the Town.
Mr. Howard Chapman, 824 Natchez Circle, spoke regarding settlement
communities and that the previous work of the Settlement Community Task Force
should be noted.
Mr. George Freeman, 1450 Bowman Rd, spoke regarding settlement
communities and asked that the recommendations from the Settlement
Community Task Force be approved by Town Council and implemented.

3. Review of Planning Commission Recommendations from July 20, 2022,
special meeting
There were no recommendations from the Planning Commission.
4. Discussion on minimum requirements for workforce housing terms of
affordability
Ms. Reed reviewed the request with the Committee.
The Committee agreed to change the deed restriction to 30 years and to have
staff determine what other incentives could be considered to encourage more
workforce housing.
5. Comprehensive Plan Implementation – Public Input Matters
Ms. Reed updated the Committee on the Comprehensive Plan implementation
and the upcoming Public Input Matters meetings.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:05 am.
