Call to order Mayor Haynie called the meeting to order at 10:37 am. 2. Approval of Minutes from the July 5, 2022 meeting Mr. Chapman moved for approval of the minutes; motion seconded by Ms. Corley. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Public Comments Daniel Senden, 300 Shoals Drive, Angie Anderson, 396 Tidal Reef Circle, Unknown, Jerry Wilkerson, 227 Killdeer Court, Craig Anthony, 227 Palmetto Bluff, spoke on behalf of the Grassy Creek, Tidal Walk, Belle Hall and Moultrie Park subdivision residents and expressed opposition to SCDOT’s Alternatives 2 and 6 of the I-526 at Long Point Road Interchange improvements. Pete Taylor, 333 Barbadian Way, expressed opposition to the I-526 at Long Point Road Interchange improvements. Transportation Committee Minutes September 6, 2022 Page 2 of 2 Laura Diehl 829, Tupelo Bay Drive, expressed opposition to the I-526 at Long Point Road Interchange improvements. Patti Sachs, 837 Bridgetown Pass, expressed opposition to the I-526 at Long Point Road Interchange improvements asking the Committee to explore other options. 4. Update on I-526 @ Long Point Road Interchange Improvements by SCDOT Project Director Joy Riley Ms. Riley referred to a presentation and provided an update for the I-526 @ Long Point Road Interchange improvements stating that public input is a very important part of the process. Discussion between the Committee, Ms. Riley, and staff. 5. Update – ongoing projects Due to time constraints no updates were provided. 6. Proposal to amend Sections 156.340 - 156.345 of Chapter 156, Zoning Code, of the Mount Pleasant Code of Ordinances, pertaining to Short Term Rentals. Proposed is to amend the ordinance to create two separate permits, one that is Part- time and rents between 15 and 72 days per year, and one that is Full- time and rents more than 72 days a year. Also proposed is to consider a fee increase for those operating Full-time, as well as enhanced parking requirements. Planning Commission recommended approval C.
