WHEREAS, by letter dated November 9, 2020, the Commissioner of the Department of Recreation has requested legislation authorizing said department to save the 2-story building that was once slated to be a club house for the tennis program located a Memorial Field; and WHEREAS, aforesaid building has been inspected by the Citr's Engineer to ensure its reliability. The 2-story building was slated to be demolished. This building has approximately $500,000.00 invested. The Recreation Department has plans for a Rec Center for various programs complete with tennis courts when Memorial Field is completed; NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact: Section 1.
