WHEREAS, by letter dated November 1, 2021, the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Planning & Community Development has requested legislation authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the City of Mount Vennon through the Department of Planning & Community Development mid United Way of Westchester and Putnam, hic. for I-year commencing December 1, 2021 to implement the Financial Navigators initiative to provide free remote-based financial triage and guide clients to a range of national and local programs, senrices and resources, in alignment with the model requirements as set by the Cities for FinanciaI Empowerment; and WHEREAS, Uhe City of Mount Vernon was selected by the national nonprofit organization, the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund), to receive technical assistance and training to launch a Financial Navigators prog.
