We needed to expand the capacity of our EMS system. We purchased vehicles but staffing them was not sustainable by the city. We are in hybrid contract with empress and they will operate our vehicles. This will reduce response times. This is a public private hybrid collaboration. Council President Gleason-we understand we need a new contract. We would of liked more time, but we understand and some of councils suggestions were added by Empress. I think it is a good contract and Empress has added extra things. Contracts can be amended so this is a start. Mayor SPH: This would have been more expensive if we did not have our own ambulances and having them equipped. About a saving of a million dollars per year. approved Agenda was concluded at 5:05 PM Chairwoman Patterson-Howard asked if there was new business: Gleason- council requested from corporation council statistic on accidents, claims. Morton-my office gave that info to councilwoman Browne, any claims that were paid out.
