Board of Ethics

The Board of Ethics of the City of Mount Vernon Minutes of the meeting of September 14, 2023 The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 6:41 p.m. Board members present in the Mayor’s Conference Room at City Hall were Curtis Brewington, Chair; Ed Byrnes, Vice Chair; John McGlynn, Secretary; Blair Hoplight, and Beresford Granston. Leslie Alpert was present via Zoom. Rev. F. Romall Smalls was absent. City Clerk Tanesia Walters was also present. A motion was made to approve the proposed minutes for 8/17/23. The minutes were approved 6-0. Regarding Financial Disclosure Statements, Ed Byrnes reported that compliance is close to being complete with only about 5 to 7 being delinquent, and thanked the City Clerk for being very helpful with the process. Ed said that he would do a full audit and report back to the Board during the week of 9/18/23. A motion to go to Executive Session was made at 6:45 PM, and approved 6-0. Public recording was ceased and Ms. Walters left the meeting. All matters during this session were con dential in nature, and, therefore, they have been redacted in order to allow this version of the minutes to be available to the public. A motion to end Executive Session at 7:49 PM was made and approved 6-0. Ms. Walters joined the meeting and resumed the public recording. A motion was made to end the meeting at 7:52 PM and approved 6-0. The meeting ended at 7:53 PM. Curtis will canvass the BOE to decide on the date of the next meeting.
