NEW YORK VIA FACEBOOK.COM/MOUNTVERNONNY LEGISLATION AND PUBLIC WORKS CSEA AGREEMENT l' IA"greoerdm'nenant I wceit'hothrae"C'ivialnSd ("CSEA"). p'hloeyWeeaA gCT3 0 2023 AN ORDINANCE TO:-RATIFY AND APPROVE $PECIA THE WAGE INCREAS$ A(44MENT WITH THE CIVIL SERVICE EMPI,OYEE ASS,O:CIATION ("CSEA") l Association Whereas the City of Mount' ("CSEA") V'6rriorr ('t'he"H:Ci$'!)Sand have reached the Civil Service Employee an agreement on wage increases for City employees as detailed in the Memorandum of Agreement dated October 3, 2023; and Whereas the Mayor recognizes the importance of addressing the needs of City employees while ensuring fiscal responsibility and equitable compensation; and Whereas the 2014-2017 wage increase reflects an amendment to the previously signed 2014-2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement; Now, Therefore, Be It The City of Mount Vernon, in City Council convened, does hereby ordain and enact: Section l: Wage Increase Agreement. The City Council hereby ratifies and approves the Wage Increase Agreement between the City of Moiu'it Vernon and CSEA. The agreed-upon wage increases are as follows: Effective January , 2014, a 2.5% wage increase. Effective January , 2015, a 2.5% wage increase. Effective January , 2016, a 3% wage increase. Effective January , 2017, a 3% wage increase. Effective January , 2018, a 1% wage increase. Effective January , 2019, a 1% wage increase. Effective January , 2020, a 2% wage increase. Effective January , 2021 a 2% wage increase. Effective January , 2022, a 4% wage increase. Effective January , 2023, a 4% wage increase. Section 2: Other Provisions. The City Council acknowledges that the Wage Increase Agreement with CSEA includes provisions and discussions beyond the wage increases outlined in this ordinance. These provisions are still ongoing and will be addressed in accordance with the attached agreement. Section 3: Implementation. The City's Human Resources Department and Payroll Division are directed to implement the wage increases as outlined in this ordinance, and the Finance Department is authorized to allocate the necessary funds to cover the agreed-upon wage increases. Section 4: Questions and Concerns. The City Council appreciates the dedication and service of City employees and their respective bargaining units. The City understands the importance of fair compensation for our employees and is committed to addressing their needs. Section 5: Effective Date.
