PUBLIC COMMENT
Tavernise McClary, 2931 Cortlandt St, Mount Vernon, NY-DuAl Fuel has three parking lot that they
do not utilize, they park personal vehicles on the streets which takes parking away from the residents.
Requesting residential only parking sections.
Council Response:
Councilmember Boxhill - I do not believe we have anything on the books that can keep the vehicles
from parking on the streets. I do wish they would be good neighbors, but we'll see if we can get some
municipal parking in the area.
Councilmember Thompson - I was looking up the address and that is two-way street, with very limited
parking on one side. I am familiar with Dual Fuel, I will give them a call and possibly stop by and speak
with them.
Councilmember Poteat - Question for the council. Our commercial parking process, does that trip into
that or is it completely something different? Council President Gleason - That is more for commercial
trucks.
Councilmember Browne - We do not have regulations to enforce personal vehicles, they are allowed to
park on the public streets. However, we are in process of a comprehensive plan and parking in the city is
an issue. I would encourage you to come out and speak at one of these meetings. It is not an immediate
change, the comprehensive plan would take about a year to implement.
Council President Gleason - We will reach out to the necessary agency to see if a handicap space can be
put next to your building. Reach out to our Legislative Aide Antoinette Anderson.
Terrance Horton, 12 E 3rd St, Mount Vernon, NY - Speaker had a sideshow presentation named The
Sentinel Consortium with Pennrose. A revitalization plan for downtown Mount Vernon.
