Scheduled for 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Mount Vernon, New York. *** This meeting was held in the City Council Chambers, with virtual participation via ZOOM and CMVNY Facebook. CALL TO ORDER / PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Corporation Counsel Brian Johnson Council President Danielle Browne called the meeting to order and provided general house-keeping rules, including encouraging citizens to share the meeting on social media and what to do “in case of emergency”. Council President Browne explained the 3-minute-plus-1 public comment rule. She then asked a Councilperson to lead the council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Council President then proceeded to the Public Speakers session of the evening (listed below as public comment). PUBLIC COMMENT Josh Grossberg (No Show) at 7:10 pm & 7:15 pm Mount Vernon, New York “I want to make the Council aware of recent data published on zipcodeexam.com, showing that Mount Vernon has the lowest life expectancy score at 77 years. I want to present this data along with the local data scores on social determinants of health, that if improved upon can increase life expectancy.” Peter Tsachalis 7:11 pm Mount Vernon, New York “Real estate, telephone poles and tow trucks” School buses Council responses: Councilman Boxhill: asked follow up questions regarding the school buses Councilman Thompson: will stop by this week its near the youth shelter and observe and will converse with the bus companies. Councilman President Browne: spoke with buildings department today and they are willing to let you know what is going on with the property and help you resolve the issue. Corporation Counsel Johnson: spoke with speaker regarding his involvement with the property.
