ECOMONIC DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE Councilperson, Edward Poteat City Council President, Danielle Browne, Esq. DATA COLLECTION SUBCOMMITTEE Meeting Minutes July 14, 2025 Following the conclusion of the Data Collection Subcommittee meeting, the following action items were identified: Action Items 1. Business Retention Procedures Gerri will prepare a brief memorandum outlining the City of Mount Vernon's historical business retention practices. The goal is to identify successful procedures that can be replicated and incorporated into future business retention efforts. 2. Business Retention Stakeholder Meeting Valon will coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce to identify several potential meeting dates in late August and September for a meeting of all Business Retention groups and stakeholders. 3. Commercial Capacity Survey The subcommittee determined that additional information is needed regarding the City's manufacturing and commercial capacity. A lot-by-lot survey of all commercial properties will be conducted to assess existing occupancy, available space, and capacity for current and future commercial and manufacturing uses. 1
