MAIN STREET ALLIANCE Monday, November 20, 2023 – 5:00 PM 109 North Kaufman Street, Mount Vernon, Texas 75457 Our mission: to provide effective and fiscally responsible municipal services in a manner which promotes our high standard of community life. Vision Statement Mount Vernon is a caring community committed to excellence and quality of life, aspiring to be the community of choice for ourselves, our children, and future generations – beautiful, clean, vibrant, and safe. We will strive to preserve our heritage, our friendly hometown atmosphere, and celebrate the diversity of all our citizens. MINUTES Call to Order and announce a quorum is present President Taylor called the meeting to order and announced a quorum present. PRESENT Board Chair Ketrell Taylor Board Secretary Gay Travis Board Vice Chair Pam Barnard Board Member Morgan Hyman City Secretary Kathy Lovier ABSENT: Board Member Crystal Copeland and Board Member Bonnie McAllister VISITORS: Craig Lindholm Consent Agenda Minutes 9/18/2023 September and October, 2023 financials Motion made by Board Secretary Travis, Seconded by Board Vice Chair Barnard. Voting Yea: Board Chair Taylor, Board Secretary Travis, Board Vice Chair Barnard, Board Member Hyman Discussion Items (no action will be taken) President Taylor updated on Totally Eclipsed event in April. Farmer's Market will be on agenda in January to get the rules updated, requirements and schedule changed. Second Saturdays will be discussed more indeptly in January as well. Christmas tree contest with Arts Alliance for trees to be decorated and placed in the plaza to add to the decor, maybe done by businesses around the square. The event proceeds will be for the Arts Alliance. Christmas parade stage will be here by 8:30 a.m. 12/2 for decorating. Ketrell and Kathy Promoting downtown discussion was that when events are being done, if they can let the staff know, staff wil post on Main Street Facebook to help with promotions. Committee Reports Design committee reported the murals on Arts Alliance building are complete. Adjournment Motion made by Board Secretary Travis at 5:35 p.m. to close the meeting, Seconded by Board Member Hyman.
