Mount Vernon City Council Study Session February 1, 2017 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Boudreau at 7:05 p.m. Present: Mayor Boudreau, Councilmembers Fiedler, Hudson, Hulst, Lindquist, Molenaar, Quam, and Ragan Staff Present: Police Chief Dodd, Project Development Manager Donovan, Finance Director Volesky, Senior Planner Lowell, City Attorney Rogerson, Public Works Director Bell, Fire Chief Brice, Human Resources Director Bartlett, Information Services Director Kleppe, Parks and Enrichment Services Director King Citizens Present: 7 A. Community Comments:  Sister Susan Wells, Catholic Community Center Farm Workers - spoke in favor of affordable housing options and support for immigrants.  Marcella Reese - spoke in favor of affordable housing options. D. Fire Operations Overview: Chief Brice reviewed current operations within the Fire Department. E. 2016 Goals Review: Council and Mayor reviewed the 2016 goals and progress. 2016 goal categories are infrastructure, healthy neighborhoods, good place for investment and operations.
