Mount Vernon City Council Committee of the Whole Minutes October 30, 2013 The meeting was called to order by Committee Finance Chair Fiedler at 6:00 p.m. Present: Mayor Boudreau, Councilmembers Fiedler, Hulst, Lindquist, Molenaar, Quam, Ragan and Urban Staff Present: Finance Director Huschka, Human Resources Director Bartlett, Public Works Director Bell, Surfacewater Manager Chesterfield, Police Chief Dodd , Wastewater Manger Duranceau, Community and Economic Development Department Director Hanson, Fire Chief Hari, Information Services Manager Kleppe, Assistant Public works Director Love, Parks and Recreation Director Otos, City Attorney Rogerson, Library Director Soneda, Special Projects Administrator Stendal. Citizens Present: 2 A. 2014 Preliminary Budget Review Alicia continued the review of the 2014 Preliminary Budget with Council. Specific areas reviewed included: a. Capital project budgets were reviewed in detail with Council. b. Alicia and Mayor reviewed the summary sections of the preliminary budget with Council. c. The “Summary of Mayor’s Adjustments” report that details the highlights of the departmental budgets was reviewed. d. Hotel/motel tax recommendations made by the City’s lodging tax advisory committee were reviewed with Council.
