Mount Vernon City Council Committee of the Whole Minutes October 29, 2014 The meeting was called to order by Councilmember Urban at 6:00 p.m. Present: Mayor Boudreau, Councilmembers Hulst, Lindquist, Molenaar, Quam, Ragan and Urban Staff Present: Finance Director Huschka, Public Works Director Bell, Street Department Manager Brickley, Surfacewater Manager Chesterfield, Police Chief Dodd, Wastewater Manger Duranceau, Community and Economic Development Department Director Hanson, Fire Chief Hari, Information Services Manager Kleppe, Assistant Public works Director Love, Parks and Recreation Director Otos, Equipment Rental Manager Owens, General Facilities Manager Prosser, City Attorney Rogerson, Library Director Soneda, Special Projects Administrator Stendal, Solid Waste Manager Sutherland, and Parks Manager Weppler. Citizens Present: 2 A. 2015 Preliminary Budget Review Alicia continued the review of the 2015 Preliminary Budget with Council. Specific areas reviewed included: a. Individual department budgets. b. Salaries and benefits of government operating funds. c. Department of Revenue ruling that reduces property tax collections from hospital properties and its effect on revenue.
