Development Services Committee Meeting May 15 , 2019 Attendees Present: Mayor Boudreau Council Members: Hudson, Moberg, Beaton, Carías, Hulst and Brocksmith Staff Members: Development Services – Lee, Phillips, Lowell; Attorney- Rogerson; Project Development Manager Donovan Minutes from April 17, 2019 were approved. 1. Firework Regulation Discussion- Mr. Rogerson gave an overview of State Law that governs the regulations of fireworks, gave a brief history of the City of Mount Vernon fireworks regulations, and gave an overview of the local regulations throughout the state of Washington. 2. Code Enforcement Update- Mr. Lee provided an overview of the MVMC controlling vehicle parking on residential property. 3. Facility Update- Mr. Phillips gave an overview of the 2019 Facility Renewal Projects. 4. SmartGov Update- Mr. Phillips and Mrs. Lowell gave Council and the Mayor an overview of the new SmartGov system and how the public can apply for a permit through the portal. 5. Project Update- Mrs. Lowell gave an update on projects: Residential Projects - Hillcrest Village: final short plat to be approved very soon; 9 SFR lots - Sustaita: preliminary short plat to be approved next few months; 2 SFR (50 by 600 linear foot property) - Other residential projects: Eaglemont III, Montreaux II, Highland Greens Div III, Glenmoor Preliminary Plat and High Point Preliminary Plat Commercial Projects - Polaris - 5R Trailers - Bony Pony - Other commercial projects: MVHS, Mid-Columbia Forklift, Dimensional Communications, 1835 Riverside, 7-11 (both sites; Kincaid and Freeway) - Visconsi The meeting was adjourned at 7:43 pm Morgan Morrison Morgan Morrison, Development Services Department
