Mount Vernon Finance Committee Parks & Enrichment Services Committee Minutes October 26, 2022 Councilmember Hudson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present: Councilmembers – Beaton, Brocksmith, Carías, Hudson, Molenaar, and Morales 1. Meeting minutes from September 28, 2022, were approved. 2. Parks and Enrichment Services – Jennifer Berner a. Eagle Rock Challenge Course i. Staff discussed the history of the Challenge Course and the current status of the Course. 1. Has not been operational for 6+ years and is in need of a complete remodel. Trees that are holding up the course elements are either dead or in decline and many of the elements are not usable due to deterioration of the wood, ropes, etc. 2. Proposed new use of this space is to incorporate it into the footprint of the Silver Arrow Bowman Club. The Bowman Club is applying for a grant that will help with the development of the area. The City would renegotiate the lease agreement with the Club and outline some added ways the city could work with them on offering classes, clinics, or events at the site. 3. Staff will bring back to Council different options for of this space. 3. Finance – Doug Volesky a. 2023 Budget Review i. Staff presented departmental budgets for Fire, IS, TV10 and Fiber. ii.
