Public Works/Library Committee Meeting December 14, 2022, 6:00 pm Attendees Present: Mayor Boudreau Council Members: Beaton, Brocksmith, Hudson, Hulst, Molenaar, Morales Staff Members: Public Works Director – Phillips; City Attorney – Rogerson; Library Director – Huffman; Finance Director – Volesky; Development Services Director – Groth; Special Projects Manager – Donovan; and Fire Chief – Brice. 1. Approval of Public Works/Library Committee Meeting Minutes: Councilmember Hudson moved to approve the minutes from November 9, 2022; Seconded by Councilmember Beaton; Carried by all. 2. Project Acceptance Update – Chris Phillips Director Phillips provided an update on six different construction projects that have been completed. Additionally, he briefly discussed a Professional Services Agreement between the City and Wilson Engineering for Division Street retrofits and the sole source purchase of three pumps required for Hazel Street Pump Station. 3. Development Services Update – Darren Groth a. Camino Contract – Director Groth reminded council of the Camino software demonstration they were provided a few months ago. Camino software will provide community partners a Development Guide that works alongside our existing SmartGov software to assist applicants to better understand the permit process. b. Design Standard Discussion Continued – Director Groth provided council an update on the Stakeholder Sessions, MVMC Analysis and Themes/rationale for process improvement, clarity of code, and standardization. He stated that ongoing efforts would be discussed in future Development Services Committee meetings scheduled during the 1st quarter of 2023. c. Business License Update – Director Groth conducted an analysis of the Building Permit process and provided an overview of the findings. He stated that he would provide process improvement recommendations in future Development Services Committee meetings scheduled during the 1st quarter of 2023. 4. Miscellaneous / For the Good of the Order – Mayor Boudreau Mayor Boudreau updated Council on AWC Housing initiatives for the next legislative session and AWC City Action Days scheduled for Jan 24-25, 2023.
