AGENDA PUBLIC WORKS / LIBRARY COMMITTEE October 11, 2023 - 6:00 PM Police / Court Campus – 1805 Continental Place APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approved by: CM Beaton 2nd by: CM Carias PROGRAM COORDINATION DIVISION – Blaine Chesterfield The County wide Local Source Control Program started in January 2023. During this initial year there have been 51 business inspections and 38 corrective actions taken within the City of Mount Vernon as of last week. The local source control program agreement with Skagit County needs to be renewed and will be considered on tonight’s council agenda. PROJECT UPDATES – Bill Bullock The Hoag/Laventure Signal is now operational and WSDOT will continue to make adjustments and refine signal timing over the next week. The project will be physically complete by November as the contractor finishes clean-up, seeding and restoration. The City has received the initial report on the Eaglemont wall repair options and monitor survey points for movement over the winter before finalizing the final repair solution. Riverside Drive Project update. LIBRARY COMMITTEE TOPICS – Isaac Huffman The topmost level of the parking garage has been constructed, completing the final pour of the MVLC project. Additionally, the solar panel brackets have now been installed on the top floor and the side of the building. A review of the annual school district progress report showed a successful relationship between the City and the Mount Vernon School District and new goals have been set for the partnership. General Updates included adding the button maker to the library of things, program success, staffing updates, and the foundation progress report. MISCELLANEOUS / FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER Brief FS1 CIP discussion.
