Parks and Enrichment Services Committee Minutes January 15, 2025 Police Court Campus, 1805 Continental Place Councilmember Brocksmith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Present Mayor Donovan Councilmembers: Beaton, Brocksmith, Carías, Hudson, Molenaar, Tercero Staff: Projects Manager Sexton, City Attorney Rogerson, Parks and Enrichment Services Director Berner Citizens: 6 1. Presentation by Martin Marietta Rock Quarry: Ms. Berner gave a brief summary of the quarry and introduced Phillip Courtney with Martin Marietta who presented an update of the quarry operations located at 20411 E. Hickox Road. The quarry’s history, current lease and potential extension of the lease, as well as reclamation plan were reviewed. Future property opportunities were also discussed. 2. Cat Colony at Edgewater Park: Ms. Berner discussed a colony of approximately 15-20 cats that have been living at Edgewater Park for more than 20 years. An action plan that includes public education, volunteer expectations, spay and neuter efforts population reductions was reviewed. 3. Review of ARPA Funds: Ms. Berner reviewed ARPA funded projects and purchases. 4. Agenda Requests  Cat colony regulations 5. Miscellaneous  Status update of Bakerview park restroom repair.
