CALL TO ORDER Chair Vogt called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present 5- Member Max Beckman-Harned, Member Paul Donahue, Member Elena Lopez, Vice Chair Phyllis Bismanovsky and Chair Nicole Vogt 3. MINUTES APPROVAL Motion - M/S Donahue/Lopez to approve the Library Board minutes of the October 21, 2019 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Member Beckman-Harned, Member Donahue, Member Lopez, Vice Chair Bismanovsky and Chair Vogt 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC - None 5. DONATIONS Motion - M/S Beckman-Harned/Bismanovsky to accept the donation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Member Beckman-Harned, Member Donahue, Member Lopez, Vice Chair Bismanovsky and Chair Vogt 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 6.1 Materials Selection Policy No action taken. 7. NEW BUSINESS City of Mountain View Page 1 Library Board Minutes December 9, 2019 7.1 Library Card & Borrowing Policy Motion - M/S Beckman-Harned/Donahue to amend the policy with recommended changes The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Member Beckman-Harned, Member Donahue, Member Lopez, Vice Chair Bismanovsky and Chair Vogt 7.2 Review Proposed Fiscal Year 2020-21 Library Budget Requests Some discussion and questions regarding the budget occurred. 8. BOARD/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Updates were given about Library Board members' attendance at the Friends of the Mountain View Library Board meeting. Some updates were provided regarding feedback from community members about the Library. 8.1 Director's Report The Library Director gave verbal updates, including a report from the California State Library Conference. 9. AGENDA SETTING/PLANNING - Customer Survey - Election of Chair/Vice Chair - Discussion of future Library services and growing population 10. ADJOURNMENT - At 8:48 p.m. Chair Vogt adjourned the meeting to the next regular Library Board meeting to be held on January 13, 2020. City of Mountain View Page 2
