Quinn, City Attorney November 25, 2014 Council Chambers SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY 5:30 P.M.-REGULAR SESSION (HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS) 1. CALL TO ORDER President Clark called the meeting to order at 5:47 p.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President Clark led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Boardmember Abe-Koga, Boardmember Bryant, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember Siegel, Vice President McAlister, and President Clark 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS Don Letcher expressed concerns with Google owning 10% of the value of land in the City of Mountain View and also with outside funding for local candidates in the November election. Barbara Goodwin expressed concerns with outside funding sources for local candidates. Stephan Heumann presented a traffic control signage plan for the intersection of Shoreline Boulevard and Middlefield Road. Lenny Siegel stated that he did not receive any support from Google, nor outside funding for mass mailings, for his candidacy. Mr. Siegel also suggested that the City work with our neighbors to conduct grass roots organizing to ensure that developers do not dominate the City of Mountain View. President Clark opened the Public Hearing at 6:13 p.m. Project Manager Jim Lightbody, Nelson Nygaard Senior Associate Phil Olmstead, and Transportation and Business Manager Forsberg presented oral reports and they, and City Attorney Quinn, responded to Council's questions. SPEAKING FROM THE FLOOR EXPRESSING CONCERNS AND/OR WITH RECOMMENDATIONS: Don Letcher Sebastian Petty, Caltrain Senior Planner Julie Jackson. Ms. Jackson also responded to Council's questions. Jeral Poskey, Google Transportation Manager Carol Moholt Greg Unangst Cliff Chambers Adina Levin, Friends of Caltrain Jim Neal Cherie Walkowiak Stephanie Munoz MOTION - M/S Kasperzak/Bryant - To: 1. Approve the proposed conceptual plan for the Shoreline Boulevard Transportation Corridor improvements. 2. Direct staff to begin work on the next steps presented in this report that would provide for phased implementation of the plan. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Boardmember Abe-Koga, Boardmember Bryant, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember Siegel, Vice President McAlister, and President Clark No: 1 - Boardmember Inks 6. ADJOURNMENT - At 10:15 p.m., President Clark adjourned the meeting.
