SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY
1. CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
President McAlister called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in honor of Rose Talmage who passed
away on September 3rd.
Mountain View High School Teacher Mr. Nguyen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: 7 - Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember
Rosenberg, Boardmember Siegel, Vice President Showalter, and President McAlister
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
Vice President Showalter recused herself from acting on Item 3.1.
MOTION - M/S Kasperzak/Siegel - To approve the Consent Calendar,
with Vice President Showalter recusing herself from acting on Item 3.1.
The motion carried unanimously.
3.1 Proposed Response to 2014-2015 Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury
Report, A Slow Rising Emergency-Sea Level Rise.
Approve the proposed response to the 2014-2015 Santa Clara County Civil
Grand Jury Report, A Slow Rising Emergency-Sea Level Rise (Attachment
1 to the Council report).
Vice President Showalter recused herself from acting on this item.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS
Don Letcher expressed concerns with the time limits set for oral communications, and he also
expressed concerns with the budget allocations for funds from the Shoreline Regional Park
Community.
Linnea Wickstrom and Per Maresca expressed appreciation to Council, staff and all partners who

assisted with the development of the 1585 Studios.

5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project-Phase 2, Draft Environmental Impact
Statement/ Report Comments.
Vice President Showalter recused herself from acting on this item and left the meeting.
Public Works Director Fuller presented an oral staff report and he, and California State Coastal
Conservancy Executive Project Manager John Bourgeois, responded to the Board's questions.
MOTION - M/S Clark/Siegel - To authorize staff to send comments to the
South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project-Phase 2, Draft Environmental
Impact Statement/Report to the California State Coastal Conservancy
(Attachment 2 to the Council report).
The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 6 - Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember
Rosenberg, Boardmember Siegel, and President McAlister
Recused: 1 - Vice President Showalter
6. ADJOURNMENT - At 11:08 p.m., President McAlister adjourned the meeting.
