Quinn, City Attorney December 08, 2015 Council Chambers - 500 Castro St. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY 1. CALL TO ORDER President McAlister called the meeting to order at 6:52 p.m. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President McAlister led the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - President McAlister, Vice President Showalter, Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember Rosenberg, and Boardmember Siegel 4. CONSENT CALENDAR MOTION - M/S Siegel/Kasperzak - To approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried unanimously. 4.1 Shoreline Athletic Fields, Project 11-33-Accept Construction. Accept Shoreline Athletic Fields, Project 11-33, and authorize the final contract payment. 5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS Elena Pacheco expressed appreciation to President McAlister and Boardmembers Inks and Siegel for volunteering at the Hope Street Kitchen. Gary Wesley presented information on the outcome of the Warrior's game. Mr. Wesley also expressed concerns with the recent terrorist attack in San Bernardino, and with the possibility of terrorist attacks occurring in the City of Mountain View, and he requested that the Mayor assure that there are plans in place to respond to any terrorists attacks here and at the schools. City of Mountain View Page 1 City Council MEETING MINUTES 12/8/2015 Maria Marroquin spoke in support of just cause eviction and she expressed concerns with residents being displaced in the City of Mountain View. Job Lopez spoke in support of Ms. Marroquin's comments and requested that Council include just cause eviction in their fair rental practice efforts. Steve Chandler spoke in support of just cause eviction and rent control. Paula Perez, speaking in Spanish, translated in English, expressed appreciation for all Council's efforts in enacting a fair rental practice ordinance, and she requested that Council include in the ordinance just cause eviction and a limit on the rent increase after the lease period. 6. ADJOURNMENT - At 9:53 p.m, President McAlister adjourned the meeting.
