SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY
1. CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
President Showalter called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: 7 - Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember
McAlister, Boardmember Siegel, Vice President Rosenberg, and President Showalter
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
MOTION - MS - Kasperak/Siegel - To approve the Consent Calendar.
The motion carried unanimously.
3.1 Approval of Minutes.
That Shoreline Regional Park Community Boardmembers approve the following minutes:
1. October 25, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting;
2. November 1, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting;
3. November 22, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting;
4. November 29, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting;
5. December 6, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting; and
6. December 13, 2016 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting.

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS
Steven Goldstein expressed concerns with the lack of defense by the City of Mountain View to the
legal actions taken with regard to Measure V, and he encouraged Council to take action to support
Measure V.
Tino Barrigan expressed concerns with the lack of defense by the City of Mountain View to the
legal actions taken with regard to Measure V, and he encouraged Council to take action to support
Measure V.
Joan Brodovsky encouraged Council to take action to support Measure V.
Job Lopez reminded Council that they are here to support the people and requested that they do so
by defending Measure V.
Michael O'Brien expressed concerns with the lack of affordable housing in the Bay Area and he
encouraged Council to challenge the legal actions taken against Measure V.
Daniel Debolt stated that he believes that the City Council has the duty to defend the legal actions
taken against Measure V. Mr. Debolt also recited previous remarks made by members of City
Council expressing their support of Measure V.
Diana Arreola reminded Council that many Mountain View city employees and residents were
counting on the rent roll back and may now soon be priced out of living in the community, and she
urged Council to defend the legal actions taken against Measure V.
Assemblymember Marc Berman introduced himself and congratulated incoming Boardmembers and
expressed appreciations to outgoing Boardmembers Kasperzak and Inks, as well as President
Showalter, for all of their service.
Amy Ridout Silletto presented information regarding her struggles to afford to stay in the
community and requested that Council support Measure V.
Irene Yoshido urged Council to defend the legal actions against Measure V.
Joan MacDonald, speaking on behalf of Advocates for Affordable Housing, expressed appreciation
to Council for passing the just cause eviction urgency ordinance. Ms. MacDonald also expressed
concerns with the legal actions taken by the opponents of Measure V and strongly urged Council to
support the voices of the voters and defend the legal actions taken against Measure V.
Pansy Lu expressed concerns with the affordability of housing for teachers and families in the City
of Mountain View and she requested that Council support the will of the people and support
Measure V in court.
Blaine Dzworiczyk expressed concerns with the displacement of families in the City of Mountain
View due to lack of affordable housing and requested that Council defend Measure V in Court.

Maria Marroquinn urged Council to do everything in their power to do the right thing and defend
Measure V.
5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO, AND REMARKS BY, OUTGOING
BOARDMEMBERS JOHN INKS AND MIKE KASPERZAK
President Showalter presented Boardmembers Inks and Kasperzak with Proclamations recognizing
their years of services to the community.
Boardmembers Inks and Kasperzak presented outgoing remarks.
5.2 PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING PATRICIA SHOWALTER, PRESIDENT, FOR HER
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE BOARD AND THE COMMUNITY
Vice President Rosenberg presented President Showalter with a Proclamation recognizing her
contributions to the Board and the community.
5.3 REMARKS BY OUTGOING PRESIDENT
President Showalter presented outgoing remarks.
5.4 SEATING OF NEWLY ELECTED AND REELECTED BOARDMEMBERS
The Secretary administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Boardmembers Abe-Koga and
Matichak and reelected Boardmembers Clark and McAlister.
5.5 REMARKS BY NEWLY ELECTED AND REELECTED BOARDMEMBERS
Newly elected Boardmembers Abe-Koga and Matichak and reelected Boardmembers Clark and
McAlister presented incoming remarks
5.6 ELECTION BY BOARDMEMBERS OF PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT
Boardmember Abe-Koga nominated, seconded by Boardmember Siegel, Vice President Rosenberg
as President. The nomination carried unanimously.
Boardmember Showalter nominated, seconded by Boardmember McAlister, Boardmember Siegel as
Vice President. The nomination carried unanimously.
5.7 REMARKS BY NEW PRESIDENT
President Rosenberg presented incoming remarks.
