1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Donahue called the meeting to order at 6:15 p. m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present 5- Committee Member Erin Brewster, Committee Member Hafsa Mirza, Committee
Member Alka Roy, Vice Chair Beth Wise, and Chair Carol Donahue
3. MINUTES APPROVAL
3.1 Approval of Minutes.
The Performing Arts Committee approve the minutes of the April 17, 2019 meeting.
Yes: 3- Committee Member Brewster, Vice Chair Wise, and Chair Donahue
Absent: 2- Committee Member Mirza, and Committee Member Roy
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5.1 One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee Report.
Committee Member Mirza arrived at 6:22 p. m.
Committee Member Roy arrived at 6:35 p. m.
MOTION M/S Brewster/Mirza - To: Approve the flyer as amended in the PAC May
meeting pending Staff approval of the changes and then post the flyer via social media to
promote the event.
The motion carried by the following vote:

Vice Chair Wise, and Chair Donahue

MOTION M/S Brewster/Mirza - To: Approve the Mentor Guidelines as amended and
authorize the One Act Play Festival Subcommittee to amend the Application as
appropriate so that they can be published on the website and distributed as necessary.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 5- Committee Member Brewster, Committee Member Mirza, Committee Member Roy,
Vice Chair Wise, and Chair Donahue
5.2 Grant and Fundraising Opportunities.
No action was taken.
6. NEW BUSINESS
PAC Member Photo.
This item was considered out of agenda order.

7. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
7.1 PAC Revenue and Expense Spreadsheet.
This item was considered out of agenda order.
Booking Coordinator Poret introduced Justin Hall the new MVCPA Operations Manager
and announced the leaving of Patron Services Manager Hannah Crown.
Booking Coordinator Poret requested PAC members bring enough copies of materials to
share with fellow Committee members, Center Staff, and the public if they are not
included in the meeting and are needing review during the meeting.
Chair Donahue requesting to add an item the May meeting regarding potential
collaboration with other Boards, Committees, or Commissions for Arts and Humanities
Month.
Committee member Roy requesting to add an item to the May meeting regarding opening
up a discussion with other Boards, Committees, or Commissions regarding arts and
young people.
Business Manager Magner reviewed the PAC Revenue and Expense Spreadsheet and
answered Committee member questions.
8. ADJOURNMENT
At 7:32 p. m., Chair Donahue adjourned the meeting to the next Performing Arts
Committee meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, in the Atrium Conference
Room, 500 Castro Street.

Recommendation: The Performing Arts Committee approve the minutes of the DATE,
2019 meeting.

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Committee on
any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits
the Committee from acting on non-agenda items.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5.1 One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee Report.
Recommendation: Background: The One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee was first formed
in June 2013 and has had several successful years of productions.
The Performing Arts Committee (PAC) will be working on plans for the
2020 Festival.
Hear an update from the Subcommittee.

Recommendation: Background: At the February 20, 2019 PAC meeting, Committee
members requested exploring options for possible grant or fundraising
opportunities the Committee could take part in.
Hear an update from Committee members.
6. NEW BUSINESS
PAC Member Photo.
Recommendation: Background: The PAC website should have a current photo of all
Committee members.
Take a group photo to update the PAC website.
7. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
No action will be taken on questions raised by the Committee at this time.
7.1 PAC Revenue and Expense Spreadsheet.
Recommendation: Informational Item.

The next Performing Arts Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019,
at 6:15 p. m. in the Atrium Conference Room, 500 Castro Street.

The specific location of each meeting is noted on the notice and agenda for each meeting which is posted at least 72
hours in advance of the meeting. Special meetings may be called as necessary by the Committee Chair and noticed at
least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

Interested persons may review the agenda and staff reports at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts beginning
the Friday before each regular meeting. Staff reports are also available during each meeting.

Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts office at 650-903-6565. Notification of 48 hours prior to the meeting will
enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this meeting. (28 CFR 35.160 (b) (1)).
The Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Committee. Their
consideration of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the recommendations indicated herein.
SPECIAL NOTICE-Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Performing Arts Committee regarding any item
on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the Center for the Performing Arts office, located at 500
Castro Street, during normal business hours and at the meeting location noted on the agenda during the meeting.
ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the “Oral Communications” part of the
agenda. Speakers are allowed to speak one time on any number of topics for up to three minutes.
Anyone requiring interpretation services will be afforded twice the allotted speaking time allowed for each specific item.
