The motion carried by the following vote:

5.1 Art for Younger Children
This item was considered out of agenda order.
Heard an update from the Art for Younger Children Subcommittee about the planning
process for the webinar "Children and Media".
MOTION M/S Donahue/Brewster- To: allow the Subcommittee to produce a webinar event
hosted by the Performing Arts Committee. The Subcommittee hereby has the authority to
make all decisions in partnership with the Executive Director, Scott Whisler, relating to
the webinar "Children and Media" including event dates, promotional flyer and marketing
strategy of the event. Executive Director will have final approval for all event details.
The motion carried by the following vote:

This meeting will be conducted in accordance with State of California Executive Order
N-29-20, dated March 17, 2020. All members of the Performing Arts Committee will
participate in the meeting by video conference, with no physical meeting location.
Members of the public wishing to comment on an item on the agenda may do so in the
following ways:
1. Email comments to PerformingArts@mountainview.gov by 5:00 p.m. on the meeting
date. Emails will be forwarded to the Performing Arts Committee. Please identify the
Agenda Item number in the subject line of your email. All emails received will be entered
into the record for the meeting.
2. Provide oral public comments during the meeting:

3.1 Approval of Minutes
Recommendation: The Performing Arts Committee (PAC) approve the minutes of the
September 16, 2020 meeting.

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Committee on
any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits
the Committee from acting on non-agenda items.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5.1 Art for Younger Children
Recommendation: Background: At the May 15, 2019 meeting Committee member Roy
requested to discuss ways to explore art and its language as used for
younger audiences. On September 16, 2020 an Art for Younger
Children Subcommittee was formed to plan a virtual event with this
topic.

5.2 Mountain View Film Festival 2021 Proposal
Recommendation: Background: At the September 16, 2020 a Subcommittee was formed
to begin planning the feasibility of the Performing Arts Committee
hosting an online film festival with the theme of "Race Equity, Justice
and Inclusion".

6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Annual Review
Recommendation: Background: As part of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's (TWSV) long
term Home Company contract, Staff will present a summary of
performance use days, sales and expenses, and open up discussion
for opportunities to improve service and/or relations. TWSV will provide
a report on and discuss their outreach activities for the past year.

hours in advance of the meeting. Special meetings may be called as necessary by the Committee Chair and noticed at

the Friday before each regular meeting. Staff reports are also available during each meeting.

The Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Committee. Their
consideration of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the recommendations indicated herein.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Performing Arts Committee regarding any item
on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the Center for the Performing Arts office, located at 500
Castro Street, during normal business hours and at the meeting location noted on the agenda during the meeting.
ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the “Oral Communications” part of the
agenda. Speakers are allowed to speak one time on any number of topics for up to three minutes.
Anyone requiring interpretation services will be afforded twice the allotted speaking time allowed for each specific item.
