Wednesday, November 16, 2022 6:15 PM Video Conference with No Physical Meeting Location
During this declared state of emergency, the meeting will be conducted in accordance
with California Government Code §54953(e) as authorized by resolution. Please contact
city.clerk@mountainview.gov to obtain a copy of the applicable resolution. All members
of the Parks and Recreation Commission will participate in the meeting by video
conference, with no physical meeting location.

Chair Donahue called the meeting to order at 6:17 p.m.

3. MINUTES APPROVAL
3.1 Minutes Approval
MOTION M/S Donahue/McAlister - To: Approve the October 19, 2022 meeting minutes.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 4- Committee Member McAlister, Committee Member Yao, Vice Chair Kumar, and
Chair Donahue
Excused: 1- Committee Member Au

5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Annual Review
Karena Fiorenza, Interim Executive Director, and Heather Orth, Associate Director of
Marketing, from TheatreWorks Silicon Valley provided a detailed report of the
organization’s accomplishments and outreach for the past fiscal year. Both presenters
and staff answered the committee members questions.
No action taken.
5.2 Upstage Theater Annual Review
Bonnie Fought, Producer, and Val Zvinyatskosky, Artistic Director, from Upstage Theater
provided a detailed report of the organization’s accomplishments and outreach for the
past fiscal year. Both presenters and staff answered the committee members questions.
No action taken.

5.3 2023 Performing Arts Committee Meeting Schedule
MOTION M/S McAlister/Kumar- To: Approve the meeting schedule for 2023 Performing
Arts Committee will meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:15 p.m. except for July
and December.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 4- Committee Member McAlister, Committee Member Yao, Vice Chair Kumar, and
Chair Donahue
Excused: 1- Committee Member Au
6. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Committee members and staff acknowledged and thanked Chair Donahue for her 8 years
of service on the Performing Arts Committee.
Staff announced on November 21, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. interviews will be held for the 6
applicants to fill the two vacant committee seats on the Performing Arts Committee for
the upcoming year.
7. ADJOURNMENT
At 7: 58 p.m., Chair Donahue adjourned the meeting to the next Performing Arts
Committee meeting to be held on January 18, 2023, in the Atrium Conference Room, 500
Castro Street.

Recommendation: Approve the October 19, 2022 meeting minutes.

4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Committee on any matter not
on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Committee from acting on
non-agenda items.
5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Annual Review
Recommendation: Hear Staff report and TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's recap of the year.
Background: As part of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley (TWSV) long term Home
Company contract, Staff will present a summary of performance use days, sales and
expenses, and open up discussion for opportunities to improve service and/or
relations. TWSV will provide a report on their financials and discuss their outreach
activities for the past year.

5.2 Upstage Theater Annual Review
Recommendation: Hear Staff report and Upstage Theater's recap of the year.
Background: As part of Upstage Theater's long term SecondStage Home Company
contract, Staff will present a summary of performance use days, sales and expenses,
and open up discussion for opportunities to improve service and/or relations.
Upstage Theater will provide a report on their financials and discuss their outreach
activities for the past year.

No action will be taken on questions raised by the Committee at this time.
7. ADJOURNMENT

The Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Committee. Their consideration
of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the recommendations indicated herein.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Performing Arts Committee regarding any item on this agenda
will be made available for public inspection in the Center for the Performing Arts office, located at 500 Castro Street, during normal
business hours and at the meeting location noted on the agenda during the meeting.
ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the “Oral Communications” part of the agenda.
Speakers are allowed to speak one time on any number of topics for up to three minutes.
Anyone requiring interpretation services will be afforded twice the allotted speaking time allowed for each specific item.
