1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kumar called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.

Committee member Yao Yao arrived at 6:37 p.m.

5 NEW BUSINESS
5.1 TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Annual Home Company Review
Debbie Chinn, Executive Director of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley provided an overview of the previous season
of performances at the MVCPA for Season 52.
She provided an overview of the partnerships, arts engagement - In Conversation Series, Demographics and
marketing tactics for their season.
6. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
Staff shared news of the article about Theater Works Silicon Valley's "Save the Theatre" campaign.
6.1 Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2023-2024
6.2 Celebration of Service
Staff provided a brief summary of the annual Celebration of Service event.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Kumar adjourned the meeting at 7:40 p.m.

The Performing Arts Committee to approve the minutes from the August 16, 2023
meeting.

This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Committee on any matter not
on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Committee from acting on

5.1 TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Annual Home Company Review
Recommendation:
TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will provide a summary of their previous season. Staff
will provide a summary of performance use days, sales, and expenses.

meeting.

Interested persons may review the agenda and staff reports at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts beginning the Friday
before each regular meeting. Staff reports are also available during each meeting.

Center for the Performing Arts office at 650-903-6565. Notification of 48 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make
reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this meeting. (28 CFR 35.160 (b) (1)).
The Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Committee. Their consideration
of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the recommendations indicated herein.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Performing Arts Committee regarding any item on this agenda
will be made available for public inspection in the Center for the Performing Arts office, located at 500 Castro Street, during normal
business hours and at the meeting location noted on the agenda during the meeting.
ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the “Oral Communications” part of the agenda.
Speakers are allowed to speak one time on any number of topics for up to three minutes.
Anyone requiring interpretation services will be afforded twice the allotted speaking time allowed for each specific item.
