1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair McAlister called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present 4 - Committee Member Carol Donahue, Committee Member Yao Yao, Vice Chair David Garcia, and
Chair John McAlister
3. MINUTES APPROVAL
3.1 Minutes Approval
M/S Garcia/Donahue - To aprpove the May 15, 2024 minutes.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC - None
5. NEW BUSINESS
5.1 Fiscal Year 2024-25 Performing Arts Committee Work Plan
M/S Donahue/Garcia- To approve the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Performing Arts Committee Work Plan to be
forwarded to City Council for approval with the following revisions:
• National Arts & Humanities Month in October
• Annual Home Company Presentations
• Spell out TheatreWorks Silicon Valley and Peninsula Youth Theatre
• Home Company Program Policy Update & Recommendations
• Review of Art & Wine Festival in September
• Discuss diversify and increase use of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in support of City
Council priorities of Livability & Quality of Life and Economic Vitality.

5.2 Discussion on Joint Meeting with Visual Arts Committee and Downtown
Committee
Performing Arts Manager Theresa Yvonne provided an update and answered the Committee's questions on
potential collaboration opportunities between the Performing Arts Committee, the Visual Arts Committee,
and the Downtown Committee.
M/S Garcia/Yao - To move forward on the meeting with the Visual Arts Committee and the Downtown
Committee.

6. COMMITTEE/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
Performing Arts Manager Theresa Yvonne updated the Committee and answered questions on the following:
• Budget
• Staffing
• Performance stats
• Attracting larger audience
7. ADJOURNMENT
Chair McAlister adjourned the meeting at 7:38 p.m.

recommendations indicated herein.

the Performing Arts office at 650-903-6565. Notification of 48 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to
ensure accessibility to this meeting. (28 CFR 35.160 (b) (1)).
ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE
Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair.
Anyone wishing to address the Committee on an item not on the agenda may do so during the “Oral Communications” part of the agenda. Speakers
are allowed to speak once on any number of topics for up to three minutes. For any agenda item or for Oral Communications on nonagenda items, if
there appears to be a large number of speakers, the Chair may reduce speaking time to no less than 1.5 minutes per speaker unless there is an
objection from the Committee by majority vote.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3(b)(1), at least twice the allotted speaking time will be provided to a member of the public who
utilizes a translator.
