City of Mountain View Minutes - Final Senior Advisory Committee Wednesday, May 17, 2023 2:00 PM Senior Center Small Meeting Room, 266 Escuela Avenue 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Hui called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL - Committee members Gilfix, Nichols, Sinha, Vice Chair Tymes and Chair Hui Present 4 - Member Vicki Gilfix, Member James Nichols, Vice Chair Elna Tymes, and Chair Deeann Hui Absent 1 - Member Ishendra Sinha 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval M/S Tymes/Gilfix - To approve the Senior Advisory Committee meeting minutes of April 19, 2023. Yes: 4 - Member Gilfix, Member Nichols, Vice Chair Tymes, and Chair Hui 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Speaking from the floor, Richard Adler, Chair of the San Ramon Senior Advisory Committee introduced himself. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 Senior Survey Subcommittee Vice Chair Tymes reviewed Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults. 5.2 Work Plan Update SAC discussed current work plan and accomplishments. 5.3 Santa Clara County Senior Care Commission Update Vice Chair Tymes notified SAC that the next scheduled meeting will be in August. 5.4 Sourcewise Advisory Council Update Committee Member Gilfix reported back on Sourcewise meeting she attended. 6. NEW BUSINESS City of Mountain View Page 1 Senior Advisory Committee Minutes - Final May 17, 2023 6.1 Work Plan Development for FY 2023-24 Senior Advisory Committee will review their current Work Plan and discuss items for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24. 7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS Committee Member Nichols wants to review Senior Center complaints. 8. ADJOURNMENT Chair Hui adjourned the meeting at 3:09 p.m. AGENDAS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES The specific location of each meeting is noted on the agenda for each meeting which is posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. The Board, Commission, or Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Board, Commission, or Committee. State law prohibits the Committee from acting on non-agenda items. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 Senior Survey Subcommittee Recommendation: Receive an update of the work being done by the Senior Survey Subcommittee. 5.2 Work Plan Update Recommendation: Committee members will share current updates on Work Plan items. 5.3 Santa Clara County Senior Care Commission Update Recommendation: Vice Chair Tymes will provide an update on the work being done by the Santa Clara County Care Commission. 5.4 Sourcewise Advisory Council Update Recommendation: Committee Member Gilfix will provide an update on the work being done by the Sourcewise Advisory Council.
