City of Mountain View Minutes - Final Youth Advisory Committee Monday, February 5, 2024 4:30 PM The View Teen Center, 263 Escuela Avenue 1. CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Luna called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL - Committee members Braun, Byon, Galindo, Jhin, Ma, Montano, Motaghiannezam, Murphy, Nair, Rajasekaran, Tissera, Wang, Zayats, Vice Chair Luna, and Chair Chan. Present 8 - Simon Braun, Kaitlyn Byon, Leilani Montano, Nolan Murphy, Jayan Nair, Shahana Rajasekaran, Meital Zayats, and Vice Chair Taylor Luna Absent 7 - Amy Galindo, Ryan Jhin, Victoria Ma, Ariana Motaghiannezam, Jade Tissera, Ryan Wang, and Chair Natalie Chan 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval To approve the January 22 meeting minutes. Yes: 8 - Braun, Byon, Montano, Murphy, Nair, Rajasekaran, Zayats, and Vice Chair Luna 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Daniel Shane spoke to YAC on the importance of the protection and restoration of urban forestry and highway vegetation barriers. No actions or discussions were taken on this item. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID PRESENTATION Peying Lee of Project Safety Net provided a presentation to committee members on Teen Mental Health First Aid. 6.2 SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATES The College and Career, Cultural Diversity and Health and Wellness, Marketing and Outreach, and Teen-Friendly Business Award Subcommittees provided an update on workplan items. 6.3 TEEN WEEK Committee members continued to plan Teen Week 2024. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS 8. ADJOURNMENT Vice Chair Luna adjourned the meeting at 5:56 p.m. AGENDAS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES The specific location of each meeting is noted on the agenda for each meeting which is posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
