1. CALL TO ORDER
Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL - Committee members Andrzejek, Byon, Chan, Jhin, John, Lew, Luna, Ma,
Montano, Nair, Oh, Rajasekaran, Tan, Wazhi, and Zayats.
Present 11 - Member Dylan Andrzejek, Member Katie Byon, Member Natalie Chan, Member Ryan Jhin,
Member Naisha John, Member Victoria Ma, Member Leilani Montano, Member Jayan Nair,
Member Kaelyn Tan, Member Kavya Wazhi, and Member Meital Zayats

3. APPROVE MINUTES
3.1 Minutes Approval
To approve the June 10 meeting minutes.

6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 Introductions and Team Builder Activity
Committee members and staff liaisons gave brief introductions and participated in a team-builder activity.
6.2 Role of the Youth Advisory Committee
Staff Liaisons provided an overview of the committee's purpose, mission, and goals. Committee members
learned about leadership roles, expectations, and attendance requirements.
6.3 2024-2025 Work Plan Brainstorm
Committee members participated in various discussions to generate ideas for the committee's focus and
projects for the upcoming year. Committee members presented ideas on events, initiatives, marketing, guest
speakers, and topics/issues to cover.

6.4 Teen Wellness Retreat Event
Staff liaisons provided an update on the 2024 Teen Wellness Retreat Event. Committee members
brainstormed additional potential activities, speakers, partnerships, and marketing opportunities.
7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS
Committee members who attended the August 17 Youth Town Hall hosted by Assemblymember Marc
Berman shared their thoughts on the event.
8. ADJOURNMENT
Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, adjourned the meeting at 6:03 p.m.
