City of Mountain View Minutes - Final Youth Advisory Committee Monday, September 30, 2024 4:30 PM Shoreline Golf Links Conference Room (2940 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA 94043) 1. CALL TO ORDER Chair Chan called the meeting to order at 4:32 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL - Committee Members Andrzejek, Byon, Chan, Jhin, John, Lew, Luna, Ma, Montano, Nair, Oh, Rajasekaran, Tan, Wazhi, and Zayats. Present 13 - Member Dylan Andrzejek, Member Katie Byon, Member Natalie Chan, Member Ryan Jhin, Member Naisha John, Member Sophia Lew, Member Victoria Ma, Member Leilani Montano, Member Jayan Nair, Member Shahana Rajasekaran, Member Kaelyn Tan, Member Kavya Wazhi, and Member Meital Zayats Absent 2 - Member Taylor Luna, and Member Jiwoo Oh 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval M/S Ma/Byon — Carried 13-0-2; Absent— Luna and Oh— To approve the September 16 meeting minutes. Yes: 13 - Member Andrzejek, Member Byon, Member Chan, Member Jhin, Member John, Member Lew, Member Ma, Member Montano, Member Nair, Member Rajasekaran, Member Tan, Member Wazhi, and Member Zayats 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 2024-25 Work Plan Committee members broke out into groups and each group created a draft work plan. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Teen Wellness Retreat Feedback Committee members provided feedback on the Teen Wellness Retreat event. YAC members led the event, including one workshop. 78 teens and 24 organizations attended the event. 7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS 8. Upon request, in advance, by a person with a disability, agendas and writings distributed during the meeting that are public records will be made available in the appropriate alternative format. The Board, Commission, or Committee may take action on any matter noticed herein in any manner deemed appropriate by the Board, Commission, or Committee. Their consideration of the matters noticed herein is not limited by the recommendations indicated herein. SPECIAL NOTICE—Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the Youth Advisory Committee regarding any item on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the View Teen Center, 263 Escuela Avenue, during normal business hours and at the meeting location noted on the agenda during the meeting. ADDRESSING THE COMMITTEE Interested persons are entitled to speak on any item on the agenda and should make their interest known to the Chair. Anyone wishing to address the Committee on a nonagenda item may do so during the "Oral Communications" part of the agenda. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Teen Wellness Retreat Feedback Committee members will provide feedback on the Teen Wellness Retreat event. 7.
