CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Luna called the meeting to order at 4:37 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL - Committee Members Andrzejek, Byon, Jhin, John, Lew, Ma, Montano, Nair, Oh, Rajasekaran, Tan, Wazhi, Zayats, Vice Chair Luna, and Chair Chan. Present 10 - Member Dylan Andrzejek, Member Katie Byon, Member Ryan Jhin, Member Sophia Lew, Member Taylor Luna, Member Leilani Montano, Member Jayan Nair, Member Jiwoo Oh, Member Shahana Rajasekaran, and Member Meital Zayats Absent 5 - Member Natalie Chan, Member Naisha John, Member Victoria Ma, Member Kaelyn Tan, and Member Kavya Wazhi 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval To approve the Oct. 28 meeting minutes. Yes: 10 - Member Andrzejek, Member Byon, Member Jhin, Member Lew, Member Luna, Member Montano, Member Nair, Member Oh, Member Rajasekaran, and Member Zayats 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC None. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Drive Wisely Vision Zero Marketing and Engagement Campaign Presentation Transportation Planner, Karen Gauss, provided a presentation on the Drive Wisely Vision Zero Marketing and Engagement Campaign to committee members. Committee members commented on how the campaign can reach more teens and younger audiences. 6.2 Subcommittee Updates Committee members met for 30 minutes in their Subcommittees. Each subcommittee provided the entire committee with an update on what they are working on. City of Mountain View Page 1 Youth Advisory Committee Minutes - Final November 12, 2024 6.3 Teen Week The committee continued planning Teen Week (March 17-21, 2025), finalizing the event schedule. Members will join subcommittees in future meetings to further develop event details and marketing strategies for each of the events. 6.4 Mountain View Pride Event Ideas Committee members provided city staff with ideas to incorporate into planning the city's inaugural Pride event in June 2025. Ideas included Drag performers, a button-making station, a community-created mural, cookie or cupcake decorating, and involving teen and school clubs and organizations. 6.5 Youth Advisory Committee Social Recap Committee members who attended the November 2nd YAC Social provided feedback on the event. While they enjoyed the opportunity to connect with other youth leaders, they expressed a desire for more time to network and build relationships. Additionally, they suggested holding the social earlier in the year to allow more time to apply the skills learned throughout the year. 7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, shared the details of the Teen Center 10th Anniversary Celebration with committee members. Committee members are encouraged to attend the event on Friday, Nov. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at The View Teen Center. 8.
