City of Mountain View Minutes - Final Youth Advisory Committee Monday, January 6, 2025 4:30 PM The View Teen Center, 263 Escuela Avenue 1. CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Luna called the meeting to order at 4:36 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL - Committee Members Andrzejek, Byon, Jhin, John, Lew, Ma, Montano, Nair, Oh, Rajasekaran, Tan, Wazhi, Zayats, Vice Chair Luna, and Chair Chan. Present 11 - Member Dylan Andrzejek, Member Katie Byon, Member Ryan Jhin, Member Naisha John, Member Sophia Lew, Member Taylor Luna, Member Victoria Ma, Member Leilani Montano, Member Jayan Nair, Member Shahana Rajasekaran, and Member Kavya Wazhi Absent 4 - Member Natalie Chan, Member Jiwoo Oh, Member Kaelyn Tan, and Member Meital Zayats 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval To approve the November 12 meeting minutes. Yes: 11 - Member Andrzejek, Member Byon, Member Jhin, Member John, Member Lew, Member Luna, Member Ma, Member Montano, Member Nair, Member Rajasekaran, and Member Wazhi 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC None. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Subcommittee Updates Committee members met for 30 minutes in their Subcommittees. Each subcommittee provided the entire committee with an update on what they are working on. 6.2 Teen Week Committee members broke out into their Teen Week Subcommittees and spent 20 minutes creating a rough outline of their event/tasks. Information will be published to MountainView.gov/TeenWeek as it becomes available. All promotion and signs ups will be available by Feb. 1. City of Mountain View Page 1 Youth Advisory Committee Minutes - Final January 6, 2025 6.3 Youth Advisory Committee Documentary Concept Youth Advisory Committee member-at-large and social media coordinator, Miguel, shared his concept for the documentary project and ideas for overall marketing of YAC sponsored-events. The documentary project will focus on highlighting different teens in our community. His goal is to have the project completed by May 2025 and premiere it at The View Teen Center. 6.4 2025 Summer Outdoor Movie Night Series Committee members submitted their choice of movies for the 2025 Summer Outdoor Movie Night Series lineup. 7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, shared upcoming volunteer opportunities, including MLK Day of Service (1/20), Senior Center Pancake Breakfast (2/8), and the Teen Open House (3/3). 8. ADJOURNMENT Vice Chair Luna adjourned the meeting at 5:44 p.m. AGENDAS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES The specific location of each meeting is noted on the agenda for each meeting which is posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. State law prohibits the Committee from acting on non-agenda items. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Subcommittee Updates The DEI, Health and Wellness, College and Career, and Outreach and Collaboration Subcommittees will provide an update. 6.2 Teen Week Committee members will continue to plan Teen Week, held March 17-21, 2025. 6.3 Youth Advisory Committee Documentary Concept Youth Advisory Committee member-at-large, Miguel, will share his concept for the documentary project.
