Mundelein Community Days Commission Agenda 7/16/2026Page |2 Page 2 of 6 Mundelein Community Days Commission June 18, 2026 Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER The regularly scheduled meeting of the Mundelein Community Days Commission was held on June 18, 2026. Chairperson Salski called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM. ATTENDANCE Chairperson Salski took the roll call. It indicated as follows: Committee Attendance PRESENT: Commissioner Biegel, Commissioner Ditanto, Commissioner Salski, Commissioner Newby, Commissioner Quaiyoom, Commissioner Krummick, Commissioner Poletto ABSENT: None Other Attendance: PRESENT: Kelsey Howe, Business Services Manager; Jess Marvin, Special Events Coordinator; Jason Seeley, Police Chief; Brian Kisselburg, Commander; Jeremy Lockwood, Deputy Fire Chief; John Lopez, Facility Maintenance Supervisor MINUTES APPROVAL Approval of the May 21, 2026 Minutes Motion to approve the May 21, 2026 Mundelein Community Days Commission meeting minutes. RESULT: Passed [Yes 7, No 0, Abstained 0] MOVER: Commissioner Karrie Newby SECONDER: Commissioner Robert Poletto AYES: Virginia Biegel, Laura Ditanto, Ron Salski, Karrie Newby, Shah Quaiyoom, Michael Krummick, Robert Poletto NAYS: None ABSTAIN: None PUBLIC COMMENTARY There was no public commentary. 2026 MUNDELEIN DAYS PLANNING Police, Fire, and Public Works Update Commander Kisselburg stated the Police was fully staffed for the event and working on Page 3 of 6 Incident Action Plan. John Lopez confirmed cameras will be installed on festival grounds. Chief Seeley reminded the Commission to be vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Deputy Chief Lockwood confirmed Fire and CERT are staffed and ready to go. Facility Maintenance Supervisor confirmed Public Works is staffed and setup at Courtland Commons has begun. Layout Liaison Howe confirmed signage for the bridge entrance. Ms. Marvin discussed social media posts. Chief Seeley suggested making "Mortorcyle Only" Parking on Crystal St. across from the municipal spaced. Budget Liaison Howe and Ms. Marvin met with a marketing company. The Commission can discuss budgeting marketing for future events. Sponsorship Commissioner Newby said $93,452 in donations were received. Smokin' BBQ will be providing the food at the Sponsor Tent. All other items are ready to go for the Sponsor Tent. Fireworks Liaison Howe said a new property owner had acquired the old Public Works site and required a land use agreement and different insurance. This has been worked out and the Village is cleared to have the fireworks display at this location. The Commission discussed the potential for needing to relocate the fireworks in the future. Parade Commissioner Ditanto explained the need to use the Transition Center Lot due to the construction in the west lot. All volunteers for the event are secured. Carnival Pageant Commissioner Biegel said the pageant was ready. The Landing location worked great for the contestant meeting. Commissioner Biegel explained that the High School was charging $2,500 to rent the space. The Commission will need to seek an alternative location for future events. Music Page 4 of 6 Commissioner Quaiyoom said the music was ready to go. Liaison Howe will check with Big Audio to confirm details of stage arrival. Munch / Food Vendors Liaison Howe said the Munch vendor meeting went well. Pop's Pizza may drop out due to a health issue. Liaison Howe suggested modifying the application next year. Beer Booth Commissioner Krummick said Sun Cruiser Iced Tea will be added. Public Works is building steps for the cooler. Special Events Chairperson Salski said the pickleball tournament was ready and he discussed the bags tournament details with Tighthead. Comments Chairperson Salski noted the Kracklauer building is available as a meeting location for the Commission if needed. Commissioner Krummick said he will be late to the beer tent on July 2. CONCERTS IN THE PARK The Commission agreed the Concerts were going very well. Public Works will paint the curb at the ADA ramp entrance so prevent people from parking in front of it. The Park District will provide two additional garbage cans. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE The Commission agreed the event went well. NEW BUSINESS The Commission will meet onsite at the festival ground on July 2 at 3 p.m. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn the meeting.
