New Business Variance and Special Use Permit Requests a. Application Z-17-044 by Danny Rhodes, representing Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, is making the following requests for property located in a Commercial Highway (CH) zoning district at 1114 Mercury Boulevard: i. A special use permit to relocate and operate a temporary mobile recycling center; ii. An 8 foot variance from Section 9(D)(2)(dddd)[2] of the City of Murfreesboro Zoning Ordinance, which states that no receptacle shall exceed 40 feet in length to allow trailer 48 feet; and iii. A 100 foot variance from Section 9(D)(2)(dddd)[7] of the City of Murfreesboro Zoning Ordinance, which states that no receptacle shall be located closer than 300 feet from residentially zoned property to allow trailer no closer than 200 feet. b. Application Z-17-045 by Joey Hargis of Baker Donelson, representing T-Mobile, is making the following requests for property located in a Commercial Highway (CH) zoning district at 1643 Middle Tennessee Boulevard: 1  i. A special use permit to construct a wireless telecommunication tower facility; ii. A 90 foot height variance from Chart 2 of the City of Murfreesboro Zoning Ordinance, which states maximum height in the CH district is 75 feet to allow pole with mounted antenna total height 165 feet; and iii. A landscape variance from Section 31(E)(3) of the City of Murfreesboro Zoning Ordinance, which requires a landscape buffer to reduce visibility from surrounding properties to allow no landscaping. Special Use Permit Requests c. Application Z-17-042 by Jeff Hooper, P.E. of Barge Cauthen and Associates, on behalf of the County of Rutherford Board of Education (Siegel High School), requesting a Special Use Permit to allow expansion of an institutional group assembly use (public school grades K – 12), to construct two building additions at the Siegel High School. Addition A is a two-story classroom addition, 21,644 square feet, located on the south side of the existing building. Addition B is a one-story addition, 5,690 square feet, for a fine arts space on the north side of the existing building.
