Adjourn City of Murfreesboro Historic Zoning Commission Staff Comments Regular Meeting March 18, 2014 New Business: 1107 East Main Street, Mr. Scott Dempsey – Requesting approval to change the current asphalt shingle roofing to metal roofing with gutters and down spouts This property is located on the north side of East Main Street midway between Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Park Circle. The house is one-story and was built in 1930 in the Bungalow style of architecture with a front porch, half timbering in gable, a stone chimney, clapboard, and a gable roof. This house is a contributing structure in the East Main Street Historic District of the National Register of Historic Places. The property owners are seeking approval for the installation of a metal roof with new gutters and downspouts. Work began prior to submitting an application to the Historic Zoning Commission. The roof material which was removed was an asphalt shingle roof. The new roofing material is a standing seam metal roofing material (Please refer to the brochure and photographs included in the staff comments).
